Speaker Bio
Lucia Gershman has acquired a wide range of experience and skills because of her uncommon background. Beginning her first full-time career before she could walk or talk, she was signed to a talent and modeling agency as an infant. Lucia spent the next 18 years in front of the cameras and on the runway before retiring and entering her next career as a talent and modeling coach with successful students and productions under her belt.
Believing that both positive and negative life experiences are learning opportunities, in 2005 Lucia started mentoring teenage girls in various life skills such as public speaking, resume writing, interviewing, deportment, and mental health care through a wide variety of workshops, seminars, service projects, and open discussions about the realities of growing up a girl in modern society.
Once again stepping further away from under the lights, Lucia began working exclusively in the sound booth as an expressive voice talent thanks to her years of experience in voice acting, event emcee work, promotional voiceovers, e-learning, and narration. However, you might recognize Lucia or her voice if you have attended Mandated Training at NJSBA where she is also the Senior Coordinator of Professional Learning.
Learning to prioritize her quiet downtime and mental health she spends every free moment in her home pottery studio with her husband and their furbaby, listening to carefully curated music playlists and becoming centered in the clay. Lucia remains close to many of the girls (some now grown women) whom she has mentored.
