Serving at the request of the Commissioner, Jeanne spent a year and a half serving in a policy role at the NJ Department of Education where she created the NJ Teacher Advisory Panel to bring teacher voice to policy making. Her interest in policy led her to be named a National Hope Street Group Fellow to advocate for education on both the state and national levels. After being named a NEA Foundation Global Learning Fellow to examine the education system in Brazil, she designed and co-directed a mentorship program for NEAF Global Learning Fellows. In 2013, Jeanne moved to higher education and served as the Strategic Partnerships Specialist in the Stockton University School of Education where she was in charge of all field placements, implementing innovative partnerships with school districts, and overseeing student teaching. She currently serves as the Executive Director of the Center for Future Educators at The College of New Jersey where she spearheads efforts to recruit high school and middle school students to the education profession and ensure that the pipeline is diverse through conferences, a summer academy, a speaker series, workshops, and teacher training. She works with districts to implement Grow Your Own programs, establish NJ Future Educator Association chapters, and Tomorrow’s Teachers courses. Jeanne holds NJ certifications as a teacher and supervisor and completed her Ph.D. in Leadership, Policy, and Change in Education with a focus on mentor teacher growth during a co-teaching model of student teaching.
