Richard H. Bauch is Of Counsel to Porzio, Bromberg & Newman, P.C. and a member of the firm's Employment & Labor and Litigation Practice Groups. Rich has been at the forefront of fighting for employers' rights in the education industry for decades. He successfully argued the Board's case before the New Jersey Supreme Court in the landmark tenure case of Dennery v. Passaic County Regional High School District Board of Education. Rich has been a frequent lecturer for numerous organizations regarding negotiations, education law, and ethical issues, including the New Jersey School Boards Association, New Jersey Association of School Administrators, National Business Institute, and Metropolitan Arbitration Group. He formerly served as President and is a current Vice President of the New Jersey Association of School Attorneys. Rich also conducts independent internal investigation, represents management at discharge and other grievance arbitrations and administrative hearings, counsels and litigates on behalf of employers on labor and employment-related issues such as collective negotiations, unfair labor practices, CEPA ("Whistleblower") claims, ADA obligations, FMLA/FLA compliance, wage and hour and prevailing wage matters. He also provides training to employers and employees regarding anti-harassment policies and employee appraisal and supervision. Rich is admitted to the Roster of New Jersey Superior Court-approved Civil Law Mediators and previously served as a Director of the Dispute Resolution Section of the New Jersey State Bar Association.
