Tejas Desai is the President and CEO of Tri-State Light & Energy Inc. (TSLE), where he oversees the company's growth in engineering, program implementation, program design, design-build, engineered solutions, energy management, and other utility programs.
Before leading TSLE, Mr. Desai directed Willdan’s Northeast and East Operations for Engineering Work and Energy Efficiency Programs. During his tenure, he successfully launched Willdan’s New Jersey operation and grew it into a $25 million enterprise in just four years. Earlier in his career, he served as Lead Engineer and Assistant Project Manager at WSP (formerly Parsons Brinckerhoff, Inc./PB Power, Inc.).
Mr. Desai is an active member of the professional community, serving on the Board of Directors for the Society of Indo-American Engineers and Architects (SIAEA) and the New Jersey Association of Energy Engineers (EEA-NJ). He holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from the Maharaja Sayajirao University of India and a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago.
Under Mr. Desai's leadership, TSLE has evolved into a full-scale engineering firm providing a wide range of services including Energy Efficiency, Engineered Solutions, Decarbonization, Energy Savings Improvement Programs (ESIP), and Direct Install initiatives.
