Tara Dohoney is a mentor, educator, best friend, wife, and mother. These roles have shaped her resilience and confidence, driving her to earn a degree in architecture and building science from NJIT. Now, 21 years later, her dedication and expertise have led her to become an Associate and the Director of Construction Administration at USA Architects, Planners, and Interior Designers. In this role, she leads a team of five construction administrators and oversees construction contracts worth hundreds of thousands of dollars annually.
As a Class 1 Licensed Code Official, Tara has established herself as one of the state’s foremost building code specialists, with a particular focus on barrier-free code compliance. Beyond her technical expertise, she is deeply committed to the growth and development of her colleagues. She mentors the firm’s designers, offering guidance and sharing her wealth of knowledge. Going above and beyond, she voluntarily runs internal code classes in her own time, fostering the professional development of her team and strengthening the entire firm.
