Kevin Dehmer is a veteran public-sector leader with more than two decades of experience modernizing government institutions and strengthening New Jersey’s education, workforce, and technology systems.
In 2026, he was appointed by Governor Mikie Sherrill to serve as New Jersey’s Chief Technology Officer. As CTO, he oversees the New Jersey Office of Information Technology and leads efforts to ensure that the state’s digital infrastructure is secure, resilient, and capable of meeting the needs of residents, businesses, and public servants in a rapidly evolving technological landscape.

Before his current appointment, Dehmer served as commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Education, where he directed statewide education policy across more than 600 public school districts. As commissioner, he led a comprehensive redesign of New Jersey’s educational data systems to enhance research capacity, improve data quality, and support evidence-based decision-making.
