Please join us to learn about the New Jersey School Boards Association’s STEAM Tank Challenge. For nearly a decade, the New Jersey School Boards Association has conducted the STEAM Tank Challenge, empowering students across New Jersey to become creators, problem-solvers, and leaders.

Since 2015, thousands of students have participated in this program, combining science, technology, engineering, the arts, and mathematics with collaboration, creativity, and entrepreneurship. Year after year, STEAM Tank showcases the incredible talent, creativity, and potential found in New Jersey’s public schools. Working in teams, students don’t just identify challenges facing the world around them —they develop solutions. They research, design, test, refine, and present innovative ideas that demonstrate both academic knowledge and real-world application.

Throughout the process, students build confidence, strengthen communication skills, and learn how to work effectively with others—skills that will serve them throughout their careers and lives. Participants also gain valuable experience presenting before panels of educators, business leaders, higher education professionals, and community partners who encourage and inspire the next generation of innovators.

As the New Jersey School Boards Association launches the 2026–2027 STEAM Tank Challenge season, we proudly celebrate the program's 10th anniversary. School districts, teachers, administrators, board members, students, families, and community partners are invited to enter the STEAM Tank Challenge for this milestone year. The challenges of tomorrow will require bold ideas, and the innovators who will solve them are sitting in our classrooms today. The future is in their hands.
